What our Staff Say about Ambition

Jon tells us about the Cabins

I have been lucky enough to have had two tours of Ambition, this has given me the opportunity to view most of the cabin grades they have to offer, ranging from their standard inside single cabins right up to the De Luxe Suites. Ambition has 21 twin and single cabin categories so there really is something to suit a wide range of pockets and tastes.

There are 714 cabins and suites filled by an average occupancy of 1200 guests, the vast majority have ocean view but there are 240 inside cabins too. All the cabins have been refurbished in 2023, so everything from the decor to the shower room seems bright and clean.

Cabin

The twins are graded from category 1 standard inside cabins right through to category 12 premium ocean view cabins. The important thing to note here is that these cabins are all approximately the same size at 13-15 sq metres. What differentiates them is the position on the ship. The more midship or the higher the deck generally means the more you will pay. If you like to have a balcony, I recommend upgrading to one of their lovely suites - not only are the suites a lot larger at 21-22 sq metres, they also have the balcony giving you an average of 5 sq metres of outside space to enjoy. If you really feel like pushing the boat out the De Luxe suites are an impressive 42-47 sq metres with a further 11-15 sq metres on the balcony. They include a separate bedroom and lounge area (both with flat-screen televisions) and a walk-in wardrobe.

Cabin

The single cabins range from standard inside with a single bed 8-11 sq metres, through to premium ocean view which are 13 sq metres. There are even a few junior suite singles if you like to have a bit more space, these are 22 sq m with the balcony adding a further 5 sq metres. There are also two cabins that are fully adapted for guests with disability and mobility needs, so Ambition really does offer a cabin grade to suit everyone.

No matter which grade you choose all cabins have tea and coffee making facilities, a flat-screen TV, hair dryer, personal safe, UK three pin electrical sockets, and USB ports.

Natalie tells us about the Bars & Drinks

After stepping on board Ambassador Cruise Line’s Ambition recently, I was blown away with the food and drink establishments onboard. You are certainly spoilt for choice. One of my favourite activities onboard is finding out the best place for a quiet pre dinner drink before tucking into a beautiful meal or enjoying some sunshine whilst sipping on a cocktail. So let me tell you all about the bars onboard…

The Clifton

Ambition has 7 bars and lounges onboard, each with their own style and unique atmosphere. On those relaxing sunny sea days, you are spoilt for choice as you have two bars to get that Pina Colada or Strawberry Daiquiri from whilst relaxing by the pool and listening to the waves beneath you. For your pre-dinner drinks why not try the stylish Angel Bar which serves your favourite tipple situated at the top of the atrium, or the Clifton Lounge located near the main restaurants.

After dinner why not visit the timeless Cavern which offers live cabaret, game shows and light entertainment. Once you've enjoyed the evening show in the Palladium, why not grab a nightcap in the Pendennis bar or the Purple Turtle Wine Bar serving a wide variety of wines from around the globe.

Purple Turtle

From my recent visit I could not believe the price of drinks onboard both alcoholic, non-alcoholic, and my lifeline… coffee. A latte would set you back £2.70, a large gin and tonic £7.45 and a diet coke for £2.85. I was extremely impressed with the prices as I have seen other companies charge a lot more whilst onboard. However, the drinks package that you can purchase offers exceptional value especially if at the time of booking you got the Ambassador Fare which includes the Expedition drinks package and includes pre-paid gratuities. The Expedition Drinks Package includes the following:

  • Non-alcoholic beverages
  • House brand spirit’s and wines
  • Premium wines and drinks (Means all cocktails are included)
  • Premium teas and speciality coffees

There are two other alternative drinks packages which you can pre purchase after you have booked your cruise. The benefit of booking a drinks package is that once you have paid, you’re not having to watch your spending onboard, you can just enjoy your cruise knowing that you have nearly everything included in your cruise.

Now what are you waiting for, book your next Ambassador Cruise with Cruises From Bristol on the Ambassador Fare and enjoy! Cheers!

Eva tells us about the Pool Area

I was lucky enough to experience the on board facilities on Ambassador Cruise Line’s, Ambition, a 1200 person capacity ship. It is a smaller size ship meaning low capacity so there is more chance to experience and enjoy the outdoor spaces, namely the pools on deck 11 which is the lido deck. You will find 3 pools; a swim pool, splash pool and an active pool. It's a bright cheerful space painted blue and purple.

Pool Deck

The deck is turfed with faux grass and sun beds are plentiful. I found this to be a very relaxing area with comfy pods that seat 2, the perfect place to chill out, and a pool bar so you never have to go far to get a drink.

To accompany the many seating areas on top deck, there are plenty of shaded areas to keep out of the sun on a hot sea day, as well as areas to catch a tan. All in all a very nice outdoor to spend time at.

Overall, our staff and returning customer feedback has been brilliant for Ambition - and now that many of our Cruise Specialists have first-hand knowledge of this wonderful ship, they are on hand to answer any questions you may have.
